Application Process

Please submit the following materials to request an appointment as a Visiting Researcher at the BMW Center for German and European Studies at Georgetown University:

  1. Request for affiliation addressed to the Director of the BMW Center, Jeffrey Anderson.
  2. One-page description of your research project.  Please include your requested dates of appointment, your specific are area of study and your motivation to affiliate with the BMW Center.   Preference is shown for topics directly related to Europe and/or the transatlantic relationship.
  3. Current CV.
  4. Visiting Researcher Application form (you only need to fill out the top portion labeled “Applicant Information”).

If you are an international applicant, please be aware that visiting researchers must enter through the Visa Waiver Program, if eligible, on a “WB” Waiver Business, a B-1 business visa, or a J-1 scholar visa. Scholars travelling on a "tourist visa" will not be allowed to begin their visit on the Georgetown campus. For specific information on the process by which to obtain a visa, please refer to the International Student and Scholar Services in the Office of International Programs (OIP)
