Approximately 80% of incoming MAGES students receive some amount of merit aid. These awards generally cover between 12.5% and 50% if tuition for two years, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress.
All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships by the admissions committee. Students do not need to submit additional information beyond the application for admission to receive a funding offer.
We encourage all prospective MAGES students to apply for external funding. Previous students have received funding from such prestigious sources as Fulbright-Schuman, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the Pickering Fellowship.
Working on Campus
Each semester, select MAGES students are offered positions as research assistants for CGES professors. The call for applications goes out in August.
MAGES students may also apply to serve as teaching assistants for other Georgetown programs such as the government department and the German department.
Georgetown’s Student Employment Office provides opportunities for students to work at various campus locations, such as the library of the SFS Graduate Career Center.
The Office of Student Financial Services provides information about student loans and other forms of support.
International students may consult internationalstudentloan.com for information about loans for non-US citizens.
