The BMW Center works hard to make sure that our alumni continue to feel like part of the MAGES community long after they graduate. Whether through alumni anniversary events or career workshops with current MAGES students, the Center provides ample opportunities for MAGI to stay and get in touch with our strong network of transatlatic leaders.
In summer 2015, the BMW Center for German and European Studies celebrated our 25th anniversary at BMW Welt in Munich, Germany. The event brought multiple generations of MAGES alumni from all over the world together for panel discussions on modern higher education, sustainable mobility, and the role of transatlantic leadership in addressing the world’s most pressing issues. The reunion in Germany was followed by a celebration at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. in October, where local alumni had a chance to catch up with their MAGES professors and meet the newest cohort of students to enter the program.
Every year there are any number of events on campus that alumni are encouraged to attend. The annual Alumni Speed-Networking evening is a fun way for alumni to share their career and internship experiences with new students, while the annual Flynn Memorial Soccer Game pits the alumni and faculty against current students to raise money for summer internship scholarships.
The MAGES program also loves to host social events throughout the school year for current students, alumni, faculty, and staff such as the yearly MAGES Holiday Party and Back-to-School-Barbeque.
Our alumni are what keep our program strong, and we enjoy keeping in touch! If you are a MAGES alum and would like to become involved in alumni activities, please contact Julia Sylla or the CGESAA Board of Officers.
