The BMW Center's events program complements the educational experience of Georgetown students and seeks to foster greater interaction between the worlds of academe and policy. These public events include talks, seminars, and conferences as well as flagship series like the Herbert Quandt Distinguished Lecture. And each year, the Center highlights a salient theme in European studies with a subset of its events program. The 2017-2018 event theme is "Transnational Perspectives on Democratic Erosion: Past, Present, and Future." Our 2016-2017 event theme is "(N)ever Closer Union? Taking Stock of the European Project."
