Why I chose MAES: I’m interested in relationship between post/neocolonial France and the US. I want to particularly learn from how both countries remember and narrativize history in fragmenting, highly diverse postcolonial communities. I chose MAES to study this trans-Atlantic relationship and maybe work towards solutions, especially given the program’s strength in studying policy.
