Academic & Research Interests: I am interested in international relations and public policy, especially at the intersection of politics, business, and strategic decision-making. My focus lies on how political frameworks and economic interests interact - particularly in transatlantic and European contexts - and how these dynamics shape policy outcomes. I am also curious about how geopolitical shifts influence regulatory strategies, industrial policy, and international cooperation.
Work Experience: I have worked with multiple members of the German Bundestag, gaining experience across a range of policy areas including foreign affairs, digitalization, and labor market reform. My responsibilities have included speechwriting, public opinion research, strategic planning, and political communications, both in parliamentary offices and during electoral campaigns. I have contributed to four political campaigns at the local, national, and European levels, supporting candidates in Bundestag and European Parliament elections. Most recently, I worked in the headquarters of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), contributing to strategic planning efforts under the party’s Secretary General. I have also supported the office of the German Chancellor in the context of national campaign work.
Why I chose MAGES: Coming from a background in German politics and European affairs, I was looking for a graduate program that combined academic rigor with real-world relevance - and MAGES stood out immediately. Its strong focus on the transatlantic relationship, paired with its interdisciplinary and policy-oriented approach, makes it the ideal setting to deepen my understanding of how Europe and the U.S. can jointly address strategic challenges. The program's location in Washington, D.C., its small cohort size, and the flexibility to explore topics ranging from international affairs to economic policy were key factors in my decision. Most of all, MAGES offers a community of people who are not only academically driven but also deeply committed to shaping the future of European-American cooperation - something I look forward to contributing to.
