Why I Chose MAGES: My academic decisions prior to discovering the MAGES program were driven purely by an ingrained belief that my career endeavors had to follow a direct and standardized path based on scientific discipline. But actually, it’s impossible to box all your interests, motivations, and passions into a single degree and career path; there shouldn't be a linear path. MAGES offered an opportunity to build a wide-ranging and useful career-oriented skillset that I could apply to any job I wanted to pursue in the future. For me, MAGES offered the opportunity to break from my constrained way of thinking and realize there was a way to successfully translate my seemingly personal and extracurricular passions into a rewarding and impactful career.
Intended Academic Focus: Transatlantic Diplomacy and Security
