Work Experience: Research assistant for two members of the history department faculty at Miami, intern at the Staatliche Münzsammlung in Munich (state currency archive), student teacher of German for elementary-age students
Why I Chose MAGES: I chose MAGES because of the academic and professional opportunities it will provide me with. I've always been interested in the European perspective of things, especially in history and politics, and I feel the MAGES program and its location in DC will set me up well to pursue those interests more deeply and professionally.
Intended Academic Focus: I want to focus on historical parallels between the US and Germany and how they influence our respective politics today. Additionally, I'm interested in how American and German politics parallel and/or differ from one another based on our histories and the effect that has on the transatlantic relationship.
